Artist Profiles

Every month, Radio M will put the spotlight on a particular artist, whether it’s an up and comer or a veteran. This section will also include the occasional remembrance of artists who’ve left the world for the big gig in the sky.
From The Stage

Radio M is dedicated to capturing the live experience around Chicago from touring world music artists/bands. “From The Stage” will be an occasional feature of concert highlights, in some cases covering one hour of the show. These are uninterrupted performances.
Global au Go Go

Once a month host Tony Sarabia welcomes DJs from Chicago, whose sounds incorporate music from around the globe, for a half hour of uninterrupted dance oriented grooves.
Happenings

Host Tony Sarabia strongly believes in supporting Chicago and the region’s live music and cultural scene. So every now and again you’ll get the lowdown on what’s happening around town.
House Parties

There is no doubt lots of great music taking place in Chicago that most of us never get to experience. That’s because it’s being created in people’s homes. Many cultures include music in their celebrations and Radio M hopes to bring listeners to these “House Parties.” Here’s where you come in; when you get word of a celebration that will include live music making, contact your host, Tony Sarabia. He’ll bring his recording equipment and capture the moment for other Radio M listeners to enjoy!
In-Studio Performances

Listeners can revisit in-studio performances by artists appearing on the show. These performances also include an interview with the artist/band, and most performances are from local artists.
Interviews

Radio M features interviews with touring national and international artists, and this is where you can find past interviews you may have missed. Each interview usually features a song or two from the artist.
Listener Musings

You can contact Radio M with your thoughts, comments, ideas and requests by e-mailing Tony at tsarabia@chicagopublicradio. Every now and again Radio Mwill share those with other listeners on this page.
Monthly Top Ten

Each month the show features a rundown of host Tony Sarabia’s “Top Ten Picks,” as well as a brief profile of each artist and a clip of the tune.
New Sounds

Chicago Reader music critic Peter Margasak joins Tony to share his choices for the best new world music releases.
