Global Activism: Helping Uganda’s Orphans

It’s Thursday, and time for our Global Activism series.

Father Hilary Muheezangango is the founder of Children’s Outreach and Vocational Education, known as COVE Alliance. The organization was started with the help of St. Mary of Vernon parish here in Illinois. It’s based in Kapeeka in Central Uganda.

The country has seen multiple civil wars and the population is still trying to recover from the trauma of those wars. HIV/AIDS has ravaged an entire generation, leaving many orphaned children behind.

COVE Alliance provides social services and education for those kids.  The organization also runs a medical clinic and is in the process of building a primary school.

As a child, Father Hilary experienced the affects of war and he has made it his mission to offer children in Uganda a better future. He explained what Kapeeka was like during the war...

Father Hilary is an amazing man! It has been a privilege to work with him. It is amazing what has been acccomplished in four years!

Getting involved with COVE Alliance is a great opportunity to make a difference by improving the quality of life for children in Uganda. You can see the impact you make when you help.
