Commenting Guidelines
We welcome and encourage your input regarding the stories we cover. That said, we do have some guidelines we ask you to follow when using our comment system.
  • Be nice. Sounds easy enough, right? Feel free to disagree with Chicago Public Radio, our staff, or what the other users have to say—but keep it civil. Personal attacks, insults, or obscene language of any kind will be removed.

  • No commercial speech or other forms of advertising will be allowed.

  • Keep it short and to the point. You’ll be happy you did—and so will your fellow commenters.

  • Stick to the topic at hand. A report on corruption at City Hall doesn’t have anything to do with the ridiculous nature of Devon Hester’s skills. Comments that wander too far from the issue at hand will be removed.

  • Do you have a love letter, hate mail, or some good advice for Chicago Public Radio? Comments are the wrong place to send those messages. Instead, email us at questions@chicagopublicradio.org

  • Review your comment before hitting submit. There’s no spell check for you, so cross your t’s and dot your i’s.

  • No html is allowed in the comments—and that means no hyperlinks can be submitted.

  • And so it’s really clear, we reserve the right to remove comments for content and length.

  • Have fun. We are happy to have you on the team!
If you have suggestions about how to improve our commenting system, drop us a line at webmaster@chicagopublicradio.org.
