Jason Marck

Director, Eight Forty-Eight

As director for Eight Forty-Eight, Chicago Public Radio’s award-winning weekday morning newsmagazine, Jason is responsible for putting together and executing the many elements that go into the daily show. He also produces individual segments that air throughout the week.

Jason has been honored numerous times for his production and on-air work from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters.

Prior to joining the staff of Chicago Public Radio in 2004, Jason worked as a producer, director and writer for Fox Sports Radio’s nationally syndicated morning show in Los Angeles, CA. Before that he was a programmer, creative services director, and the morning host for KLZR radio in Lawrence, Kansas, where he helped develop and grow one of the first alternative music stations in the country. He was also a director of jazz programming and producer/host of a Grateful Dead program at his college radio station.

Jason studied music history and communications at the University of Kansas.

A native of Chicago, Jason lives in the Rogers Park neighborhood.
